Chapter 13
Chapter 13
1. Who dies at the beginning of this chapter? The last time we saw him, what was this character telling to Okonkwo?
2. Describe Ezuedo's funeral using a quote. What cultural similarities (or differences) do you notice between the way they hold a funeral and the way our society would?
3. At the bottom of page 123, find a quote that describes the wishes to Ezuedo in the afterlife. What are the meanings of these wishes?
4. How does part 1 end?
5. Writing Question (1 brief paragraph).
- Write about how "justice" is handled throughout the story (Ikemefuna's fate, the Egwugwu, Okonkwo's banishment, etc...). How does their justice system work? Are the results of their justice system fair, or harsh? If you could, what suggestions might you make to them?
